About the project
Tappy lets independent brands issue custom membership cards that customers add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet with a single tap. Once installed, businesses can reach cardholders directly through lock-screen push notifications — replacing email blasts that get ignored.
The Challenge
Small brands struggle to keep customers engaged after the first visit. Email marketing lands in promotions tabs, paper punch cards get lost, and most retention tools are built for big chains with big budgets. Independent businesses needed a lightweight way to stay top-of-mind without making customers install yet another app.
The Solution
We built Tappy as a web platform that generates branded wallet passes for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, paired with a dashboard for sending real-time push notifications to cardholders. Customers add the card by scanning a QR code — no app install required — and businesses can push offers, point balances, and announcements straight to the lock screen.
Results
Live and onboarding independent brands looking for a simpler alternative to traditional loyalty apps and email marketing. The wallet-first approach removes friction for both businesses and customers, with lock-screen notifications consistently outperforming email open rates.
